I began Dante’s Inferno a few days ago, reading a canto a night (just before bed). I’m also reading Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, Susan Cooper’s The Grey King (I finished Greenwitch last week), Chekhov’s play “The Three Sisters,” Chesterton’s Orthodoxy (still), Thomas à Kempis’ The Imitation of Christ (still), L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables (still), George MacDonald’s At the Back of the North Wind, some of W.B. Yeats’ poetry, and Mortimer Adler’s How to Read a Book. I had to restrain myself from starting Paradise Lost and Ivanhoe — I’m already reading too many books at the same time.
