Crosswrite

Audio transcription web app. Uses the HTML5 audio element, jQuery, and the jQuery hotkeys plugin. Written in 2011.

Notes

• The demo doesn’t save your transcriptions. It’s just to show that you can easily control the audio using keyboard shortcuts. The actual app (hosted on Github) does save transcriptions and allows you to upload files.
• It works in Chrome and Safari, but not in Firefox.
• The default keyboard shortcuts aren’t exactly ideal.
