Only thirteen days till I get married. Wow. You know, I always knew this day would come, but even so, it became harder and harder over the years to imagine it actually happening. I’d go on date after date and never really feel like I was making much progress — like it would take a miracle to get me married.

Well, it did take a miracle. Several of them, actually, each nudging me closer to marriage, opening doors and guiding the way before me. I look back on the last few months and I’m amazed at how it all fit together. Sometime later I’ll post about how Meridith and I met and how we got from first date to a ring on her finger, but for now I’ll just say that trusting in the Lord and in his timing was one of the best things I ever did. I could never have done it on my own. Isn’t it wonderful that God wants us to be happy even more than we want ourselves to be happy?

Wedding planning is still super busy, but we’ve got most of the major to-do items checked off. I’m realizing that the honeymoon’s purpose really is to help the couple recover from all the wedding preparations. (Well, among other things. ;))

Anyway, I’m really, really excited. Last night I moved into our new place (so so so much nicer than my last place) and can’t wait till Meridith joins me in two weeks. Matrimony rocks. ;)
