The evolution of a gossip

When I find interesting stuff online, I used to blog about it. That doesn’t happen anymore — instead I twitter it and post it to Facebook and Google Reader, and occasionally Delicious as well if it’s something I want to find again later.

This is a good dichotomy, I think; it leaves my blog with a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and in all honesty it’s a lot easier to post a quick link and a few words to Twitter than to write up a blog post about, say, this, which I absolutely love:

Fiction Rule of Thumb

I suppose I could just write short blog posts, but for some reason writing a single-line post feels almost wrong somehow — square peg/round hole sort of thing. And so I twitter instead and it feels great.
