I try not to get grossed out when guys walk straight out of the bathroom without washing their hands, but it’s hard. It’s not like I’m OCD about germs or anything — two years in Thailand cured me of any tendencies I might have had in that direction — and yet the thought of beelining it out of the bathroom without washing your hands is just weird. I mean, even if they just pretended to wash their hands, it would be better. (What you don’t know can’t hurt you, right? :P)
And don’t get me started on the guys who don’t flush…

I’ve been amazed by how often I’ve seen this lately, whether it’s people either walking straight out or turning on the water for a second or two and pretending, which is still quite obvious. I mean, I’m pretty sure I don’t have radical ideas about basic hygiene–maybe if we were seven years old I’d let it go, but I want to think it should be common sense and second nature at this point.

i too find this disgusting. even if you’re in a hurry, it doesn’t take that long!
What I find disgusting is when you have roommates that don’t close the bathroom door when they are peeing. Like.. okay, it isn’t like I would see anything new, but the last sound I want to hear drifting through the apartment is the sound of one liquid converging upon another with great force from a great hight, when I know that the one liquid is toilet water and the other urine. Ugh.
is there anything wrong with not closing the door whist one is peeing? Anyway… I agree wholeheartedly. That is why whenever I leave the door I always use my paper towel to open it. Just because some boys are plain gross.
i would like to point out that there are plenty of girls who do this too.
and i find it just as nasty (if not nastier)
