So, it’s President Obama by a landslide. While I have to admit it’s kind of scary, seeing how he’s a huge question mark, I’m hoping that this cry for change will turn out to be a good thing. To be perfectly honest, I doubt it, but I want to be proven wrong. Too bad we can’t fast-forward four years to see what happens.
In the meantime, it looks like Proposition 8 is passing (although only 21% of the precincts are reporting, whatever the heck that means). And the equivalent propositions in Arizona and Florida are likewise passing. Hurray! Let’s hope it stays that way by the time the last vote is counted.

For your future edification: “21% of precincts reporting” means that the reports of actual votes are in from 21% of the polling areas (or precincts). The news networks use statistical extrapolation to determine from the small percentage where the entire state will go. Which explains how they are sometimes wrong. Seems odd in the internet age that we can’t have instant, correct results, but such is life.
Hear, hear! In spite of my fears regarding Obama’s slight socialist leanings, I have great hope for his ability to learn how to deal with things the right way. He’s a smart guy. Then again, so was our last president, but nobody gave him any credit for it. Obama’s different, and I think no matter what, this country will learn important things from his administration.
Liz: Cool — thanks.
Amy: I think Bush is far more cunning than we give him credit for, probably because he wanted it that way.
