Adventures in Thailand

My mom wanted me to finish up my new edition of Adventures in Thailand (my mission letters home — the ones I wrote for public consumption, which you can read right now at Blank Slate), so I decided to finish it up today. I hadn’t realized it was effectively done already, just waiting for a cover. And so I made a cover:

Adventures in Thailand

I’m sending it off to Lulu right now since my mom wants a hard copy, but there’s a new bug which isn’t letting me upload a custom cover. I’m not sure what’s up with that — I’m in the middle of talking with their tech support right now. Anyway, I haven’t been able to work on P&P or Grimm since the last post, but I’m sure I’ll be able to make more time for them soon.

Update: It looks like it is using the custom cover, but the little preview just doesn’t update correctly. Tech support said it’ll use the real cover and not the preview, so I should be fine. I ordered my proof copy and my fingers are crossed.

This is Nancy’s husband (Nancy and David from Special Collections…yeah), Andrew, and I just want to say I like your work a lot! I do extremely similar things – I’m working on putting all my mission e-mails in a book that I’ll have printed at Lulu, I layout Project Gutenberg books in InDesign for fun (I had to teach a class on InDesign up in the library Multimedia Lab where I work, and I had my students do Aesop’s fables…), and I do web design and video stuff on the side too. I like your style!
Nancy and I are actually trying to set up a publishing company too…specializing in family history publications.
Random question…did you know an Elder Ross Curtis in Thailand? He was there from 2003-2005…
Again, great work!

I’ve already replied to this via Facebook, but yes, I do. :)
