As we become more educated, we have more experience at how to memorize things. You've memorized lots of lists before, so you know the techniques that will work for you. Also, you have more knowledge which interconnects with what you are trying to learn making it easier to pick up new things. Memorizing doesn't become hard until you get MUCH older.
