Shaun: I think I'm going to go into astrophysics instead of library science. ;) I agree, the audience will come. Rachel: I'll do my best. I hear they're selling profound thoughts for $8.95 at Walmart, but the sale ends tomorrow... Sarah: Hmm, a good question. :) I think it's because my favorite books growing up were by British authors (C.S. Lewis, Susan Cooper, Tolkien, etc.), and I love the accent, and I love fog and moors and thatched roofs and the history. Not that England is all thatched roofs, of course. :) And I've studied Old English (and I'm taking a Middle English class this fall). But I think the main thing is the feeling of northernness, like C.S. Lewis described (but for him "northern" was more Scandinavian, I think). I've met a few English people, yes. And hopefully I'll be able to get my PhD over at Oxford or Cambridge and thus meet many more. :) Dan: Cool, glad to hear it.
