I’ve realized that I like school a whole lot more when I’ve done the homework. :) Now that I’ve caught up on my assignments so far, I feel so much better. Anyway, I read the first chapter of Arthur Henry King’s Arm the Children, and it’s really good. He talks about how we as Mormons have two different philosophies battling it out: our Mormon beliefs and our cultural philosophies (which of course depend on where we live; for me, they’re American). The cultural philosophies are great but only when they don’t conflict with the Lord’s teachings. He hits on several of the false practices and philosophies of our day, like wasting time in mindless entertainment. I want to write more about this but I’m out of time (for tonight). ~sigh~ More later.

Is that a mormon author? Sounds like a good read, I should look into it.
Yes, he taught linguistics here at BYU for a while but I think he passed on a few years ago. He’s British and seems to be a Hugh Nibley sort of person, if that makes sense. :) It’s a very good read and I can’t recommend it enough.
